This weeklong day camp offers middle schoolers the opportunity to explore their interest in buildings and architecture. Open to students entering 7th and 8th grades, Adventures in Architecture Camp offers hands-on, immersive learning projects and first-hand encounters with design professionals who work in our communities. Led by architects and designers amid the renowned architecture of Drake University, the camp will engage students in creative design processes as students work on real-world problems in team and individual settings. Students will learn about the tools and technology architects use to solve design problems, such as 3D printing, virtual reality, computer modeling, and hand drawing, while also developing their own problem-solving skills. Field trips throughout the week will immerse students in architecture studios and project sites. Adventures in Architecture Camp offers a meaningful opportunity for students to explore their interest in architecture while learning from esteemed professionals. Meals: Lunch will be provided daily at Drake's Hubbell Dining Hall. The cost of meals is included in the price of camp tuition. Camp Scholarships: IAF is committed to serving students of all backgrounds, regardless of income. A limited number of need-based camp scholarships are available. Refund Policy: No refunds will be issued to cancellations less than six weeks prior to a camp session, unless the cancellation is for a documented medical reason, accompanied by a doctor’s note.
